Support for Georgi
Financial support for the family of Georgi Tonev, gentle giant of Wairau Valley Special School, much loved student to all the staff.

Georgi Tonev is a student at Wairau Valley Special School. Sadly he passed away on 31 October 2021. Georgi's family are from Bulgaria, and after the death of Georgi's dad in 2012, Georgi's mum Tanya has been on her own in New Zealand caring for Georgi. Caring for a student with special needs is tough on any family, Tanya has been doing it on her own for the last 8 years. She is an amazing mum, and an inspiration to all parents of special needs children.
We have started this page to offer support to Tanya through the next few weeks as she faces life in NZ on her own, without her whanau to support her, without her husband and sadly, without her beloved son Georgi.
