Hazel was one minute from home when the unthinkable happened. An American tourist on the wrong side of the road coming towards her causing a serious car accident. She dislocated her foot with multiple fractures, fractured elbow, concussion, severe pelvis and chest bruising along with the mental trauma of the crash.
Hazel had just recovered from shoulder surgery and about to get back into work when this accident happened. I wanted to create this page to support them with a little financial relief during this time.
Due to being self employed and trying to build their small kiwi business they don't qualify for ACC or MSD support sadly.

Rehab has started! 10 July 2025
2 months today since the accident. Hard to believe. It's certainly been a challenging time both physically and mentally. Whilst I still have pain and anxiety that I'm dealing with, I have just started rehab and I hope to be up and walking soon. The win right now is that I can stand up straight un-assisted with both feet firmly on the ground! I feel quite tall after 8 weeks of sitting or scootering.
Doing my best to look to the future and hope by summer to be back in action!
