Help get Loukas get home safely from Thailand.
Nationwide
Last week my 18 year old nephew Loukas was arrested and reported of stealing a watch at an airport in Thailand.
After 6 nights in a high security prison he was granted bail and has been reunited with his mother. To meet bail conditions it has cost more money than is available to them, and now they will have to wait in the Surat Thani province for up to 3 months for a court hearing.
This page is for people that know the family, or want to offer their compassionate support.
These funds will help with living costs and legal costs, and return flights for both of them.
We hope he can be released and they can safely return home soon.

Great news - Loukas has made it home! 7 September 2026
With gratitude to all who have offered kind words and donations to help Loukas navigate the legal system in Thailand over the past few months. We are so thankful and relieved for his release and he has now made it home safe to NZ soil. It’s been heartening to see so many people rally around with their kind words and donations to help him. I am very grateful for this platform in that respect, and what can be achieved when we band together as a community. A giant thankyou from Loukas and his family x
