Support for the Cruickshank family in this time of tragedy.
Takapau
This wonderful family has been hit by tragedy this week at Whangamata with the loss of Ian and Samuel. They are valued members of our community and this fund is to support them during the terrible weeks and months they have ahead, as they return to a home that will never be the same.
This fund is informally acknowledged by CHB College and Takapau School, and supported by other community organisations and individuals.

Ian and Samuel 22 January 2023
Just adding a little note, with photos of Ian and Samuel, to thank everyone for their generosity. Donna says the Whangamata community has been incredibly supportive. "It was nice to be able to tell our own community at home that we were being very well looked after. We are so very aware we’re not alone.”
She also made special mention of Joe from search and rescue, who she says made it his mission to bring Samuel back to them, and he did.
This fund is nearing $30,000 as I write this; it is for the family to use as they see fit to try to piece their lives back together when they get home; one less thing to worry about. Kate
