Fundraising for Ambers kidney transplant journey.

Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui

💛 Supporting Amber & Her Whānau 💛

Amber is about to begin the next stage of her journey toward a long-awaited kidney transplant.

Next week, Amber (4 years old) and her whānau will travel to Auckland where she will undergo complete kidney removal surgery. Following this, Amber will need 3-hourly dialysis sessions for approximately 6 weeks.

Amber and her mum Michelle will be staying at Ronald McDonald House for up to 4 months. During this time, Dad and big sister Ellie will be travelling regularly between home and Auckland — until Dad is able to donate his kidney to Amber after the dialysis period.

We want to wrap this special whānau in love and practical support.

Post Nephrectomy surgery update   21 February 2026

Amber is doing well post Nephrectomy surgery on Thursday. Slept most of yesterday and this morning woke up thirsty and hungry which is good. Doing her first round of dialysis today which hopefully goes well too. The staff in Starship and Ronald Mcdonald house have been amazing and looking after both of us really well. Thank you to everyone for your support through his really tough time.
