Community of Pahiatua fundraising to support Ukrainian families.
Manawatu-Wanganui, Tararua District
The war has displaced more than a quarter of Ukraine’s population, with 12 million people forced to flee their homes. Throughout the month of June, the community of Pahiatua is holding a fundraiser to support Ukrainian families who have fled to Kazimierz Dolny, Pahiatua’s twin town in Poland.
This page has been set up to collect extra donations to support this cause.
For more information on our support visit https://www.tararuadc.govt.nz/news/2022/support-for-ukraine
This is a combined effort of Tararua District Council, The Pahiatua Museum, Explore Pahiatua and the Polish community in the Tararua and neighboring districts.
All money raised will go directly to a fund administered by the Mayor of Kazimeirz Dolny for the displaced Ukrainians living there. Funds will be used for groceries, articles intended for children, hygiene products, household chemistry, the most necessary clothing, underwear and shoes.
