Our beautiful friend Vanessa has suffered a horrific accident after being injured by her horse. She was urgently rushed to Palmerston North Hospital before being airlifted to Wellington Hospital ICU, where she underwent surgery.
The extent of her injuries has been described as comparable to those seen in a high-speed motor vehicle accident. She suffered internal bleeding and significant internal injuries, broken ribs, two compound fractures in her right forearm and damage to her liver and spleen.
She is currently on strict bed rest in Wellington Hospital and faces a long and challenging road to recovery.
As you can imagine, this has turned life upside down for her and her family. With her hospitalised away from home, the family has been displaced while staying close by to support her. Between travel, accommodation, time off work, and the many unexpected costs that come with a traumatic event like this, the financial pressure is immense.
We are setting up this Givealittle page to help ease that burden so the focus can remain where it belongs — on healing and recovery. ACC will provide some financial support, but they won’t cover everything.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for wrapping Vanessa and her family in your love, support, and kindness during this horrific time.
She is a very close friend of mine and I am organising this page to support her and her family during her recovery.
