Help John Gisborne rebuild his life in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle
Napier, Hawke's Bay
John Gisborne is one of NZ leading ceramic artists.
His life has been dedicated to making ceramic works, teaching ceramics and sharing his love of all things pottery. From wood firing to Raku, John's expertise has inspired many potters and ceramic artists throughout New Zealand and Hawkes Bay.
John has been living and working at Waiohiki Arts Village for 20 years.
On the morning of Tuesday 14 February, John's life was turned upside down by Cyclone Gabrielle. Not only did the flood water and silt decimate his studio, it inundated his home as well. He lives in his bus with his partner Corrine behind his studio which was flooded up to the windows.
He's determined to carry on at Waiohiki, but without insurance this is incredibly difficult.
Now we are asking for contributions, no matter how small to help John and Corrine get through this terrible tragedy.
Please take a moment to contribute, your support is very much appreciated.
