I'm Jay Xuan, 17 years old, born and bred in Christchurch. I'm so honoured to be selected to represent New Zealand at the 2026 Badminton World Junior Championships. This will be my 2nd and final time competing, as this is my last year as a junior.

Unfortunately, Badminton is a self-funded sport in New Zealand. It will cost each player of the team about $8,000 for flights, transport, accommodation, food, uniform, plus extra WJC training in Auckland for players who live outside of Auckland.

I would be really grateful for your support to help me realise my dreams.

1st Men's Doubles with partner Ansen Bee (BOP)

Semi Finals Singles and Mixed Doubles

Unfortunately injured my bicep and right shoulder rotator cuff on the 1st day. Physio said no sports for a week after this tournament to heal.

My final Canterbury Secondary Schools Championship for Papanui High School this week. Emily Wu, my physio (one of my sponsors) said i could play as my bicep is healed but I still need to take it easy. She strapped me up for semis/finals day.
