Please help us support this generous kind soul by easing some of the financial challenges that lie ahead.
Northland
Kelly is one of the most generous people I know, always putting other people first and always willing to help anyone in need, now it’s time for the generosity she has shown to others to be shown to her.
On the 26th of November 2022 Kelly was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer, an aggressive Cancer and learned in the following days that it has also spread to her lung. This news was devastating for Kelly and with no family history of breast cancer this has left Kelly and her family questioning why this has happened and at such a young age of only 37.
Kelly started Chemotherapy treatment immediately and is hopeful that she will be eligible for Immunotherapy - Keytruda, unfortunately it is not funded and comes at a cost of approx. $8000 per treatment. They are also looking into other non-funded drugs and treatment within New Zealand and Overseas. As a result of this diagnosis Kelly has had to step back from actively running her own business as a wedding stylist and florist and employ extra staff to fulfil her clients’ bookings, with her partner Sam now being the only full-time income earner and two children to support this has put a huge financial strain on the family.
With uncertainty of how Chemotherapy treatment will go they also face the probability of self-funding expensive treatment options and the added pressure of financial stress is not something that this family needs at a time when they need to be focusing on keeping a positive environment for Kelly’s journey.
I am Kelly's sister inlaw and we have known each other for 20+ years
The funds will be used towards additional staff wages, travel costs for treatment and potential treatment options and unfunded drugs (Keytruda).
