Support Lorans fight against Leukaemia: A young mum needing urgent treatment

In Nov 2025, Loran’s life changed suddenly when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

Loran, 29 is married to Matt and mum to two beautiful boys, Harry(3) and Wilson(1). She was healthy, active, and building a life with her family when, without warning, everything was turned upside down. Within a day of diagnosis, Loran was admitted to Waikato Hospital and commenced high‑dose chemo.

All tests confirmed the need for an urgent allogeneic stem cell transplant. She was added to the Auckland transplant waitlist in Nov 2025, with a wait time of up to 6 mth.

Loran was medically ready for transplant following her 2nd round of chemo. She is now undergoing her 4th round, and projected transplant date has been pushed to Aug - a 9 mth delay for a treatment that is critical to her survival.

Given the long wait times for transplant in NZ, we are now exploring other options to help secure the treatment she deserves.

Matt, the primary income earner has become a fulltime carer. Their lives are suspended while they await a system that is not functioning as it should. Loran deserves the opportunity to raise her boys.

With sufficient support, we hope to secure the treatment required and restore this family to the life they deserve.

As we all know, Loran is the first to help others and rarely one to ask for help herself. She’s agreed to let us create this page so those around her can support her.
