Support Melissa Galt in her fight against cancer

  • Update #2

      9 July 2021

    Hi Everyone,

I wish this update was different.

Following Melissa’s message to say she was about to start her new meds, her condition deteriorated quickly. Unfortunately, the disease caused such extensive damage to her liver that she was no longer able to process any treatment. Melissa was moved onto a palliative care programme and sadly died on the 9th July surrounded by love.

I know that Melissa was blown away by the love and care shown through the donations and comments on this page and her family and I are so grateful to you all.

The funds raised and any new donations will be passed on to Melissa’s amazing girls for their future needs.

    Ali.

    Hi everyone

I wanted to start by saying how incredibly humbled, grateful, amazed, supported and loved I've felt these past 12 days as the donations to this page have by far exceeded my expectations.

Every single dollar from each of you means so much to me and my family, we are just so grateful.

I have spent a fair amount of time over the last while crying happy tears seeing names from my past, people i know now (or know off) and also the total strangers and many wishing to remain anonymous. It is heart-warming to say the least.

The great news is that yesterday i was able to pay for the first month of treatment and as I write this the drugs are making their way to me via courier so I should be starting the new treatment tomorrow. A fortnight ago that wouldn't have been an option.

Fingers, toes everything crossed they work!!

Thank you again to each of you for your contribution.
