Help for financing Odee's cancer treatment, medical expenses, living and travel costs.
Waikato
Odee is a father of four, and partner of Wiggy.
We have recently discovered that Odee has an aggressive metastasis form of cancer (stage 4). The primary site is in his bowel. The cancer has grown quickly and predominantly to his Liver, but also to his lungs. He has received surgery to remove the original tumor in his bowel, and is in recovery while receiving treatment for the other sites. We are hopeful for a positive response to the treatment. He is a young and strong, healthy person, surrounded by family.
We are seeking funds to help with ongoing treatment, and medical expenses as well as living and travel costs. We are hoping that with your help, some of the extra stress and difficulties facing us today will be eased, and that he can fight this even stronger!
I am Otis's daughter.
The money will be put towards Odee's cancer treatment, medical expenses, living and travel costs.
Update 1 February 2020
Kia ora koutou,
I want to let you all know what is happening. Despite Odee’s strength and resilience, his cancer has proven extremely aggressive. He is entering the final stages of his journey, which could end any time from now until Monday.
He wishes to be at home, and surrounded by family. The nurse is upping his medication to keep him comfortable as required during the process, which means he will not be conscious from now onwards.
The funeral will be soon after he passes (maximum two days) as he is having a natural burial. If you would like to come to the funeral it may be good to start making arrangements to come to Thames.
Unfortunately, we cannot hold space for people outside of his immediate family, to visit before he passes. This has been an incredibly fast, and devastating process, and we need this time with him now.
To everyone who has donated, we have all felt so much support from you. Odee has read many of your messages and seen your names and felt overwhelmed with love ❤️. We will try to keep you updated about what happens next.
We invite everyone affected to come to mourn, to support, to love, and to celebrate Odees life with us, at his funeral.
Nga mihi, aroha mai, aroha atu
Thankyou for the support and love
❤️
