Support Rural Parents: Give Every Baby an Equal Start

  • How long is “as long as possible?”

They say, “Labour at home as long as possible, then come to hospital when things are progressing.”

But how long is “as long as possible” when you live hours away from the hospital?

How do you time contractions with a 3-hour drive?

What if the baby comes early, or fast?

For families in rural and remote areas, this advice isn’t just impractical, it can be terrifying. That’s why we need safe, nearby accommodation for parents who have to travel for specialist care.

This is what the Teddy Foundation is working toward.

Because every family deserves an equal start, no matter their postcode.
