Support Captain Sabitra Bhandari's ACL surgery. Stand with Samba and help our goal machine rise again for Nepal.
Wellington
Sabitra Bhandari, widely known as ‘Samba’ is Captain of Nepal National Football Team. Her career has always faced adversity, but overcame it with courage every time. This time, she needs your support to rise again.
Samba has carried the hopes of a nation on her shoulders. As captain of Nepal’s women’s national football team, she has inspired countless young girls to dream beyond boundaries and believe that nothing is impossible. Her journey has never been easy. Every goal, every milestone has come through sacrifice, discipline, and relentless determination.
Through sheer hard work, she earned an overseas contract with Wellington Phoenix FC, proudly representing both Nepal and New Zealand on the professional stage.
Wellington Phoenix have always extended their support with fully funded surgery and rehab in NZ, but Samba is aiming to have her surgery again in best facility in Aspetar, Qatar, Doha. The club will support Samba with significant amount for Aspetar for her best treatment.
Despite being a national icon, lack of adequate support from the ANFA have left her turning to the people who have always stood behind her. Her last surgery was supported by the ANFA, but the current leadership didn't just deny her support but kept her waiting for more than 6 weeks, ultimately denying any administrative support.
Samba gave her all for Nepal and created biggest moments.
Now, it is our turn to stand by her.
Help our captain rise again.
The money will be spent on Sabitra's ACL Surgery and Rehabilitation for 6-7 months which is estimated to cost around 80k USD.
Surgery DONE, Road to Recovery Begins! 25 March 2026
Hello everyone,🙏
After a long wait, I have finally had my knee surgery. On Wednesday morning, I would like to inform you that the surgery was successfully completed in Auckland, New Zealand by Dr. Simon and his team. Since the situation in the Gulf region is currently not normal, it was difficult to reach Qatar and Aspetar. So as per the advice of Aspetar, I have done surgery under the specialists available in New Zealand. Now, my rehabilitation will start from tomorrow under the supervision of the doctor here. I would like to inform everyone that I will continue my rehabilitation in Aspetar as soon as the situation normalizes. I would like to thank the Nepali family in Wellington and Auckland who supported me during this time of pain. My club Wellington Phoenix and my management team have worked hard to arrange the time for this surgery. With the same energy from the beloved fans who have always supported and loved me, I move forward on my journey of comeback. Thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart. Now, all attention is on the comeback.💛
