Sabitra Bhandari, widely known as ‘Samba’ is Captain of Nepal National Football Team. Her career has always faced adversity, but overcame it with courage every time. This time, she needs your support to rise again.
Samba has carried the hopes of a nation on her shoulders. As captain of Nepal’s women’s national football team, she has inspired countless young girls to dream beyond boundaries and believe that nothing is impossible. Her journey has never been easy. Every goal, every milestone has come through sacrifice, discipline, and relentless determination.
Through sheer hard work, she earned an overseas contract with Wellington Phoenix FC, proudly representing both Nepal and New Zealand on the professional stage.
Wellington Phoenix have always extended their support with fully funded surgery and rehab in NZ, but Samba is aiming to have her surgery again in best facility in Aspetar, Qatar, Doha. The club will support Samba with significant amount for Aspetar for her best treatment.
Despite being a national icon, lack of adequate support from the ANFA have left her turning to the people who have always stood behind her. Her last surgery was supported by the ANFA, but the current leadership didn't just deny her support but kept her waiting for more than 6 weeks, ultimately denying any administrative support.
Samba gave her all for Nepal and created biggest moments.
Now, it is our turn to stand by her.

Use of funds
The money will be spent on Sabitra's ACL Surgery and Rehabilitation for 6-7 months which is estimated to cost around 80k USD.

Dear supporters,
The word 'thank you' seems too small today. I cannot describe in words the support, trust and love I have received for my treatment in the last 24 hours. Financially, you have already covered the cost of my treatment. The support and promises I have received has made me even stronger. With this energy, I will put in 100 percent effort in my surgery and rehabilitation.
I have once again understood from my heart that the greatest wealth I have earned as a player is not money and titles, but love, trust and support. This is my real earning.
More than 1 Crore Nepalese rupees have been deposited in my Nepali bank account and 45 lakhs Nepalese rupees (52 thousand New Zealand dollars) have been deposited in foreign platforms for my treatment. The organization that sponsored me and many other Nepali organizations have also promised cash and in-kind support. This seems to cover not only my treatment expenses, but also the accommodation and transportation during my treatment in Qatar. Various personalities and organizations living in Qatar have also promised support. Therefore, I request you to stop the support amount in both accounts from today.
My affiliated club, Wellington Phoenix, is also facilitating the treatment by disbursing the insurance amount and additional support for the surgery and rehabilitation
