Together, we can help give Sandra the treatment she needs and her family the gift of more time.
Whakatane, Bay Of Plenty
After 34 years together, Sandra and her Husband Paul never imagined they would be facing this.
They are raising two teenage boys and have no nearby family Support.
October 2025, Sandra was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer known as ALK -positive .This Cancer is a rare genetic rearrangement and is not linked to smoking or environmental issues so standard treatments like chemotherapy are not the best option.
Because the cancer is driven by this specific genetic error, it responds exceptionally well to targeted oral therapies called ALK inhibitors.
Sadly, recent scans have shown the cancer has become resistant to the current medication and the next options under Pharmac are not funded in New Zealand.
We are hoping our community can come together to help ease the financial burden of further treatment.
Every single dollar raised goes directly towards purchasing the medication or treatments required by Sandra to buy the family more time together.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Sandra in the fight of her life.
If you are unable to donate, please share this with friends and family
I work with Paul, Sandra's husband.
$11,000 per month for the non-funded medication to keep Sandra alive
Thank you - From Paul (Sandra's Husband) 24 July 2026

Your kindness, generosity ,and support mean more to us than I can properly put into words. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family but knowing that we have the support of such caring people around us has brought us real comfort and strength.
Every Donation , message , and kind gesture has made a difference. It has helped ease some of the pressure we are facing and remind us that we are not going through this alone.
My wife and I are deeply grateful for your thoughtfulness and compassion .Thank you for standing beside us during this challenging time
