    Hi everyone,

I haven’t shared an update in a little while, and that’s been intentional. Sian has been focusing on adjusting to the two nephrostomy bags, building her strength, protecting her energy, and most importantly – spending precious time with her kids.

But today, we have FABULOUS news to share.

Her latest scans show that the cancer is shrinking.

Not only that – her team is now looking at removing the nephrostomy and replacing it with a stent instead 🥳😍🙏

This is a huge milestone. A massive physical and emotional relief. Fewer external tubes. More freedom. More normality. More hope.

In true Sian style, she drove herself to the appointment with her son, got the news, and they’re now on their way home to celebrate.

There have been lots of happy tears today.

Thank you for continuing to hold her up with your love, prayers, messages, and support. It truly makes a difference. She’s gaining weight, growing stronger, and showing us all what resilience looks like.

We’re not at the finish line yet, but this is a powerful step forward.

    With gratitude and hope

  • Second round of chemotherapy

After being released from hospital, Sian was incredibly happy to be home with her family. She even had the chance to celebrate a belated Christmas with the kids, which lifted everyone’s spirits. Over the past week she has been able to get out and enjoy some sunshine — visiting the beach and taking in the peace and beauty of the lavender fields.

Yesterday, Sian began her second round of chemotherapy. The best news is that she has managed to gain 4kg, which is a huge achievement and a positive sign of improvement in her strength.

Thank you to everyone who has supported her so far — your kindness truly makes a difference.

Please continue to share this page so we can keep Sian supported and surrounded with love during this journey. Every share helps more than you know

Sian was discharged from hospital yesterday and is finally home with her kids 🏡💞

Coming home to this beautiful “Welcome Home” sign meant more to her than words can say. She is so humbled, grateful, and happy to be back where her heart is.

Thank you to everyone for the incredible support, messages, meals, donations, and—most of all—the prayers. They have carried her through some very tough days.

    What’s ahead this week:

    • Tomorrow (Thursday): 9:30am appointment at the Cancer Centre

    • The Hauora District Nurses will also be visiting to remove the staples from her tummy (yay! 🙌)

One step at a time, but being home has given Sian a much-needed boost of strength and hope. Thank you all for continuing to walk alongside her on this journey 💛

  • My Journey - summarised message from Sian

On 10 November, I was told I had cancer and further testing was needed.

On 23 November, I was rushed to A&E with severe vomiting and abdominal pain.

By 25 November, I was diagnosed with Stage 4B cervical cancer. The cancer had spread to my right kidney, requiring surgery to insert a nephrostomy tube to keep it functioning — my first Prada bag.

On 18 December, I had my first chemotherapy session. It was a long 8-hour day, but it went well.

On 21 December, I was rushed back to A&E with severe pain and vomiting. An emergency CT showed a blocked bowel. On 22 December, I was told the words no one wants to hear — if steroids didn’t work within 48 hours, there was nothing more that could be done. Surgery was not an option.

Then, on Christmas Eve, a miracle ✨🙏

We were told surgery was possible — a second chance at life, a gift. My second Prada bag.

Today, I write this from my hospital bed, two weeks after admission. It’s been a rollercoaster — deep lows, but also incredible highs. I’m learning my body’s new way of life, healing, facing new challenges daily, and finding strength I never knew I had.

It’s been 2.5 days since I last vomited, a huge win. While I miss my kids and home deeply, I’m reminded how far I’ve come — and I’m hopeful I’ll be home in a few days.

Thank you to everyone for the love, kindness, donations, and sharing the Give a Little page for me and my kids.

    We love you. 💛

  • Yummy Food

As we move into the New Year, we finally have some positive news to share after a challenging couple of weeks.

Following a period of being nil by mouth from Friday morning, Sian was able to start on liquids again and has been enjoying soup broth — even joking that all she needed was some toast to go with it.

On Monday, after 13 long days, she reached a huge milestone and was finally able to eat solid food again. Her stoma is working well, and her nose tube was also removed on Monday — another big step forward.

Over the past couple of days, Sian has been dressed again, feeling more like herself, and has been doing laps of the ward as well as gentle yoga in the garden. Our superwoman continues to show her incredible strength and determination 💪

As the New Year begins, we’re holding onto hope and gratitude for these small but meaningful wins. Thank you all for the continued love, prayers, and support — it truly means the world to Sian and her family 🤍

  • Defiant and Fighting

This photo was taken in hospital during one of Sian’s hardest moments — and yet it captures exactly who she is. Tired, hurting, and facing so much, but still defiant. Still stubbornly strong. Still refusing to give up.

Seeing her like this breaks our hearts, but it also reminds us of the incredible strength she carries within her. Even now, Sian continues to fight with courage and determination, taking things one moment at a time.

She is currently in hospital, and we gently ask that everyone please keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who has donated, shared, messaged, and supported Sian so far. The love surrounding her has been overwhelming and deeply felt.

Please continue to share this post so her circle of support can keep growing. Every prayer, every message, and every share truly matters 🤍
