I appreciate any help and support and will keep you all up to date with my surfing news as I embark on this opportunity of a lifetime!

Whakatane, Bay Of Plenty

My name is Tai Murphy, I am 17 years old, live in Ohope, NZ and have a raging addiction to surfing. I have spent the last two years at the Raglan Surf Academy and have lived and breathed surfing.

My goal when I began at the Surf Academy in 2022 was to participate in as many competitions as possible, build my reputation as a surfer and become a recognisable NZ athlete in this sport.

I have had the best two years of my life and taken every opportunity to surf, travel around this amazing country and have made some great friendships in our awesome surfing community.

My major goal is to surf for my country, and I have just been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2024 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship being held in La Bocana/El Sunzal, El Salvador in May.

This Give-A-Little page is all about getting assistance from local sponsors and any others that are keen to help raise the $8000 required to cover the tour costs.
