Tane has had his first trip to chch hospital. We found out just how aggressive tanes cancer is! We were very surprised that he is considered urgent so the covid 19 was not going to stop them. He had the harvest on Tuesday 24th while the news about covid 19 lockdown was announced which made us quite nervous! So I distracted myself by asking questions about how the machine works, It was really interesting, he had to get this awful line in his neck first (worst bit of all for Tane) and then the blood is drawn from that line and pumped into a machine then spins round a big belt that seperates his plasma from his stem cells then machine pumps what they don't need back into his body. We were told most adults in Tane's situation usually produce around 50 to 70 stem cells Tane produced 270!!!! The Dr and technitions were gob smacked! In short this will hopefully give him an excellent chance of being able to fight the lymphoma.

We have been sent home for now to self isolate in the comfort of our own home. BUT we have been advised at this stage we still have to go back to chch on the 15th of April where Tane will be admitted to chch hospital for around a week all going well, he will have extensive chemo that will kill of all his remaining stem cells which leaves him with 0 immune system (super scary considering the dangers of covid 19) he will have his transplant while he's in hospital thenTane, myself and our youngest daughter will stay in Ranui house for 6 weeks while Tane's new stem cells and immune system grow.

Here's some photos of Tane during his harvest. I'm proud of my husband! He stays so positive even during this pandemic and lockdown. I know he has the strength to kick this cancer in the arse!
