Help us get back to Africa to serve with Mercy Ships for 12 months, lending a hand to the world's poorest.
Auckland
We have been given an incredible opportunity to work onboard the hospital ship Africa Mercy, putting our skills and passion to work in serving the world's poorest nations. We will be heading to join the ship in July 2018, and serving voluntarily for one year, as an IT support specialist and a wound care nurse.
As part of the team on board Mercy Ship we will be playing a part in providing free medical and humanitarian services to the people of Africa. In the developing world, lack of access to basic health care can have horrific results. Mercy Ships freely provides relief to the forgotten poor - saving lives, improving quality of life and restoring hope.
Mercy Ships relies on a team of volunteer crew members to pay their own room and board, travel and personal expenses while serving. This allows general Mercy Ships donations to be used for direct patient care, community development programs and other costs associated with its Field Service initiatives. From doctors to nurses, engineers to deck hands, housekeepers and teachers, everyone serves as a volunteer.
We invite you join us on this journey by donating toward our volunteering expenses.

The costs of flights, immunisations, insurance and crew fees are likely to come to NZD30,000 in total for the both of us. All donations here will go directly to getting us over to the Africa Mercy, helping to cover some of these costs.
