Support the New Zealand Surfing Team as they round out a huge 2024 season next month.

Get behind the New Zealand Surfing Team and support a huge 2024 campaign as we enter the final month before our international 2024 competition schedule finishes.

The New Zealand Surfing Team comprises surfers Saffi Vette (Gisborne) and Billy Stairmand (Raglan) and they are supported by Michelle Rellis (Manager), Matt Scorringe (Coach) and Simon Baker (Doctor).

The aim is to raise $8,000 to round out our high-profile 2024 competitions. Any generous donations will help empower our athletes with a strong team structure that will ensure their success.

Show your support and become part of the journey as we prepare to take on the world’s best surfers at the most feared wave on the planet.

Your support not only helps this year’s campaign, but it provides our management team with experience at major sporting events, experience that will be brought back to Aotearoa and passed on to our future stars and the wider performance programme.

Use of funds

Funds raised will go towards the services of our team support staff while the athletes are overseas. This ensures that Billy and Saffi have a top level support team travelling with them as they compete for their country in the coming weeks. Your support goes a small way to replacing the loss of income from their day-to-day jobs.

Kiwi's return to NZ post OIympics (Tahiti) and Paris 19 August 2024

Our Kiwi Surfing Team returned home last week after their Olympic campaign in Tahiti and meeting up with the NZ Team in Paris.

Both of our athletes placed 16th equal in Tahiti after some brave performances. Saffi tackled Teahupoo head on in the opening round and Billy stuck it to 2x World Champion Filipe Toledo in the second round, however, both coming up short in their encounters.

The athletes moved on to Paris for the final few days of the Olympics where they took in the Games experience alongside the rest of the team.

A huge thanks to everyone contributing to the cause. Combined with private donations, we met our goal of $8,000 which provided the team with the best possible support staff.

And so begins the next four year cycle as we look toward LA 2028.

Once again, thank you for being part of our Olympic journey.
