Emergency support for extended family who are escaping Ukraine after Russian invasion.
Auckland
Members of our extended family have managed to escape from the Ukraine and 3 days ago Liliia and her two young boys made it across the border to Poland. Sadly, but proudly, her husband and brothers remained behind to fight. The situation is constantly changing and the last few days have been really difficult / emotionally draining for everyone.
Liliia and her 2 young boys are currently in Poland across the border and will be staying in Warsaw in temporary accommodation. My sister in law, Liana, has flown out to Poland for a week to be with Lilia and help to find food and clothing as they left the country with nothing. My brother Tim has managed to find an apartment to rented for a month and will try and get them all to the UK if the visa situation changes, or back to Kiev if the Ukraine becomes safe enough to return. Lilia's parents escaped to Moldova and they are hoping to stay safe and reunite with them in Warsaw.
Whilst I know that not everyone is in a position to help practically, if anyone is able to contribute any support financially at this moment in time, no matter how small, it would all be massively helpful.
Prayers and thoughts always continually appreciated too.
Thank you all for the levels of support and encouragement people have shown over the past week - it is truly appreciated x
The beneficiary is my sister in law and her family
