  • 💜 transfer to Wilson centre and removal of her trackiostomy 💜

      12 May 2022

Kiaora everyone with the amazing progress being made by Mya we are getting a transfer to an intensive rehabilitation center by the end of this month 🥳 I'm so proud to say Mya is just smashing out recovery with leaps and bounds 🤗

And now discussion around removal of her tracki is being spoken about which will mean Mya can talk on her own and maybe be able to eat se Kai. But for now talk around changing her NGT tube to a Micky button which will be so good for her to get the last tube off her face. Thank you all for your continued support 🤗

Love from me and my family

  • Transferred back to Tauranga Hospital

      1 May 2022

    Kiaora everyone

Well it's been a bit and I'm happy to say Mya is now 3 weeks and 1 day off the ventilation system and progressing like a champ 💯 we were transferred back to Tauranga hospital on Tuesday 26th of April 2022. Mya has settled in well with a tracki change too. And now has a new one that has a inner tube inside to prevent a blockage that may happen.

Mya is also making more and more movements and the biggest thing is she is able to mouth sentence and can communicate also with head nods. She's good with her right arm getting stronger each day 🙌 doctors are still unsure about what her true condition may look like but will continue to so all they can to get her back to her normal self as much as possible.

I can't believe you made it this far my darling 🌟 your a huge miracle that I thank God for giving you back to me and not taking you from me before I was ready 😔

Thank you to everyone again who has sent there love and support and donations 🤗

Kiaora everyone 💜 thank you all for the continued support while Mya is recovering in hospital. She is making small improvements each day and getting stronger everyday she is now up in her chair and loving the different view instead of just the wall or curtain. She has adjusted to being in her seat so well 🙌 after this weekend we will might be able to go home to Tauranga 🎉🥰 something that will be amazing to be closer to home. Nothing better than havng more whanau support around us to be able to see the progress Mya is making. Moving both her feet now as well and finger movement 🙌 the biggest miracle IV ever had to live through.

  • 🎉 We are up in the ward 🎉

      6 April 2022

Well things have taken a change for the better and Mya has now been breathing on her own for 5 days!! 🥳🤯

We are just so pleased with how far she has come with all of the emotions we have been thru as a family to now see her awake but still a fair way to go 💪😎

One major thing I would love to share with you all is she has just blown doctors away with her success so far as well as being able to understand soothing funny 🙌 she can smile and giggle but a silent laugh.

Now we are creating a plan with the doctors so we can all continue to support my daughter.

Thanks to everyone who has continued to support us while being here

  • Update for Mya 19/03/2022

      20 March 2022

It's so hard that I see my baby the way she is. She has major brain damage to where she's showing signs that her brain may not recover .😭😭😭

One thing the doctors do know... Is it's the medication (taken by her) that has caused the damage to her brain. 😭 I thought that at least it not being from a lack of oxygen she was going to be ok to a certain extent but we ain't even there yet... 😭 Some of the movements she makes shows signs of a certain injury and the doctors said that's something she may forever have. But they have found a balance in medication for her to comfortable enough to wake her properly.💜 She will have another MRI this week to see how her brain injury has changed since the last one. They will put a dye inside her for the machine to pick up if there are any connections in her brain happening.

She can breathe on her own for small periods of time and then she stops which is also part of the injury to her brain 😭

    Ahhh 😭😭😭

A panel of neurologist will check over her scans again and come up with a plan to what suit what ever the scan provides 😭

It's not a nice one but it's what's happening for her this week.

    😭

Keep resting my darling 💜 mummy loves you so much 😭💜💜

  • Today's update 18/03/2022

      18 March 2022

Kiaora everyone thank you so much to all for making a donation to our cause

Today Mya went back into theatre as her tubing from her operation for her dialisis line had moved and stopped working. So they took her in to see what happened and a stich had come undone letting the tube move out of place and not being able to drain. But they fixed it up and now it's working properly again.

She is now getting the continued care to support her kidneys and breathing supports through her tracki
