Ash had an appointment with the hand therapist today. Her index finger is not making any improvement. She now has to wear another splint for another 2 weeks then the doctor will take another look. Fingers crossed for some movement to come back. Scar is healing nicely however :)

Thanks to everyone who has donated!!!

  • This week

      22 April 2016

On Monday Ashleigh's step Mum arrived to help out and visit just in time for her next surgery Tuesday. She had a skin flap surgery where they stretched skin over the knuckle. Surgery went well but she came out in a lot of pain and took awhile to get the pain under control which meant another night stay in hospital. She went home on Wednesday and back on Thursday to have after surgery check up. The wound is looking good and fingers crossed this is the last surgery for her. She has been given some exercises to start doing but as you could imagine this would be extremely painful stretching new skin and also stitches. But it's awesome she's FINALLY allowed to start the movement process with her hand..

Slowly but surely she will get there.

Thanks everyone for your support and kind words. Means a lot to Ashleigh and her family!

  • Fingers crossed!

      7 April 2016

Ash has now been home a week and a half. She had an hospital appointment last thursday to change dressing. The doctors are happy with how its healing and if it keeps healing how it is then she may not need a skin graft which means no more surgeries YAY! Cody is now back and work and her youngest goes to daycare 4 days a week and her 4 year old 3 days. So Ash is home with them both one day a week and home with mr 4 two days a week. She has to carry a vac pack around with her 24/7 which is attached to her hand to drain the wounds so as you can imagine being one handed while looking after children is a handful especially when they can be so demanding. Changing a nappy is a mission. So once again thanks so much to everyone who has donated I know it's going to help out a lot with the childcare fees :)

She has a portable vac pack she has to carry around with her 24/7 but she's home with her family. She has to go back to hospital on Thursday and get her dressing changed and then they will book her in for her skin graft the following week.

  • 3rd surgery

      25 March 2016

Ashleigh had her 3rd surgery yesterday. She was hoping she would have been going in for skin graft but they have said her hand needs to heal more before they can do that.

They cleaned it out again and put a vac pac in to help drain the wound in order for it to heal nicely.

Hopefully skin graft will be early next week. She is finding it hard being away from her boys and partner and hoping they will allow her to go out for a few hours on the weekend.

    Fingers are crossed for her!

Thanks everyone for your donations they are very much appreciated!

  • Tendon Surgery

      21 March 2016

After Ashleigh's surgery was cancelled Saturday & again Sunday she finally went in today. She had her tendon repaired which was damaged from the accident they also cleaned the wound out again and and put a stitch in each of the open wounds. Surgery for skin graft will be in another 48-72 hours fingers crossed it doesn't get put back any more. The quicker she has it the quicker she can get home to her boys <3
