Help support the partner and newborn son of Claire Pepperell, a Tauranga woman who died in hospital days after becoming a mum
Bay of Plenty
On Monday 23 November, Claire Pepperell and Brad Wakelin were on top of the world.
They had just welcomed their first child, Cameron—eight weeks premature—and signed the papers to purchase Claire’s family home.
Like all new parents and homeowners, they were on cloud-nine and extremely excited about the future.
But, less than two days later, the new family was dealt a devastating blow when 27 year-old Claire collapsed in Tauranga Hospital’s maternity ward and died a short time later.
Claire’s death has left both her and Brad’s tightknit families and large group of friends absolutely devastated, and put an end to her dream of being a stay-at-home mum.
We are meant to be helping them celebrate two of life’s biggest and most exciting events, not supporting Brad as he grieves his partner and comprehends life as a solo dad and new homeowner.
To help make things a little easier on Brad and his premature son, who is still in the hospital’s special care nursery, his family has decided to create this givealittle page.
Unfortunately Claire didn't have life insurance. It was set up to start on 27 November, 2 days after her death (the day of their new home settlement).
Any donations received will be used to ensure Brad is able to fulfill Claire’s dream—to bring her son up in the home she grew up in.
Are you able to help? All donations are very much appreciated.
I am Brad's cousin and I am setting up this page to support him and Cameron
