This page has been created to aid the treatment & recovery of Domanique Lamberg affectionately known as 'Dommy'. In August 2015 Dommy was sent to hospital in Sydney, Australia with excruciating migraines. Dommy was then sent for further tests which came to show she had a tumour on her brain, after a few weeks stay in Sydney it was decided that it would be easier if she returned to New Zealand to be closer to family & have the tumour removed.
Surgery was scheduled & doctors were initially very happy with the amount of the tumour removed, however, after further testing Dommy was notified that the tumour was not benign as first suspected & has officially been diagnosed with Brain Cancer. With months of treatment/therapy & recovery ahead of her the last thing we want her or the family to worry about is money.
Domanique's mother Celeste will be required to take long lengths of time off work leaving her Dad as sole income earner of the family until such time as she can return to work after helping her daughter through this.
It may not seem like that much of a struggle however being 2 incomes down with travel, accommodation, treatment expenses that may occur & basic needs is not going to be easy. In addition Dommy's younger brother Cooper was diagnosed with Autism & also requires alot of attention & his treatments/medication can also be quite costly, add on day to day living & you can see how fast this will become quite the financial burden.
Celeste's eldest daughter & Domanique's older sister Alenice was tragically killed in 1995 & the family's journey has not been an easy one. whilst we truly believe Dommy can beat this thing the emotional battle is too much to fathom & too sad for words. The least we can do is try to relieve some of the financial anguish.
Please support Domanique and her family at this trying time. Please donate small or big, it all adds up so any amount is welcome. The money raised will go straight to Dom and will be used for any travelling cost or expenses that will ensure Dommy has a speedy recovery. In advance I would like to thank you for your support.
Domanique is one of my best friends. We have played hockey together for 15 years.
I also played hockey with Domanique's older sister who was killed in a tragic accident in 1995. I currently play hockey with Domanique's mum Celeste who is like another mum to me. My love for them all drives me to support this lovely family as much as I can..
I can't wait to play another 15 years with Dommy xx
