Last day for radiation to morrow. We are hoping they have zapped the tumours. The next meeting is about the lung and that is 4 July. He is feeling very tired and needs his morphine to help him.

We have had dear visitors today. Sophie and Freya bought roses and they had dress ups with hats and scarfs.

Matua will start radiation again next week. He has a tumour now on his muscle in his shoulder blade. We are now dealing with 3 tumours: vertebrae, lung and muscle. The morphine is certainly helping him. Kia ora to Chris from New World who took us in.

Over the last few weeks Matua Murray and Whaea Mere have had visits from some of our local school children who have come to share there songs, stories and aroha. This, as I'm sure you all know means the world to Matua and Whaea.

This deeply saddens me to learn of Matua passing - he has left a legacy of Aroha and Manaakitanga not often seen today. I lived next door to Matua and to Mere in Orewa North for a number of years when my younger 3 children attended Orewa North School, - Rebecca, Ashley and Holly - Having had them as neighbours and Mere as their teacher they showed that people were not just other people but were part of their whanau and their hearts. Matua you have left so many of us richer for you having shared in our lives, you have earned your place with the Tupuna to now guide from a higher realm - having gone from a strong Papa, an inspiring leader, a wise Tohunga and now Guiding Tupuna - kia ora for the mahi over the many years aroha nui to the Mere and the whanau - Ngahuiroimata, Rebecca, Ashley and Little miss pink gumboots (Holly) and our babyboy - Liam
