Get Bruce, Kahli, Jan and Jase back on their feet after the Christchurch fire

I have male green budgie that blew in down my driveway last year I'd like to donate to Bruce. He comes complete with a cage etc. I'm unable to bring him over due to our car breaking down and having to be sold. I live near Canterbury Uni. Our cat keeps eyeing him up like a boxed lunch.

Hi Abby, I asked this question when I made my donation, but couldn't see that anyone answered it. Could you please ask Bruce if he used to race Sprint Cars at Ruapuna Speedway, back in the 80's? I used to watch a fella by the same name, and looks like him too, who had a car sponsored by Prebbleton Tavern. If it is, tell him I loved watching him drive, and he's still remembered for it to this day! Thanks.

It sucks that bad things always happen to good people. I cant even begin to imagine how he feels. To go to work in the morning and to return home to smoldering ashes. It would be devastating. But at least no one was injured. It is heartbreaking to hear about his loved pets. I dont have kids and my animals are my babies, so i can imagine how hard that would have hit him. Unfortunatly i am not in a position to donate, but my thoughts are with him and his family. Cantabrians are resilient people and i hope he gets through this rut.

i was gutted for bruce when i heard what had happened to his house, bikes and pets,

but who cares if he had insurance yes it would have been great if it had had it, but for the avarage person insurance is just to damm expensive especially since the earthqakes,

i pleased no one was hurt buildays and pets can be replaced but not lives

Hi, do we know the sex of the baby of Bruce's daughter? If it is a boy we have a bunch of NEW newborn clothes, soaps, wraps etc that we would happily donate. We sadly lost our we guy at 3 days so would love to donate to a deserving family.

Once Bruce is ready again, I have some budgies that Bruce can have. Bailey, aged 10.

We lost our house 3 months ago in a house fire we lost our pets and we only had the clothes on our backs left weather or not he had insurance is irrelevant the utter devastation that u feel at the time and for months to come is awful we are still waiting on insurance to come threw this man needs everybodys help to start again my heart goes out to you bruce as i have been where u are

I am a little upset that people get stuck on something and are so critical at a time like this. - Please see that there has been a comment from a company that when Bruce gets back to the rebuild they will lay the concrete and all labour free of charge. please can you ensure this gets passed on to Bruce - So proud the amount of support for Bruce & his family.

Im sorry but this isnt a question. I cant get over the horriblesness of some people asking why he didnt have insurance. Regardless of whether he did or didnt has absolutely nothing to do with you and the family has lost everything. Put yourself in their shoes for a minute and think about that!!! Remove your stupid questions about insurance!!!

Hey Abby, I was very much contemplating on starting up a give a little page for Bruce last night but I wasn't sure if I was allowed as I do not know him personally. Such an awesome job you're doing! I have shared the page around on Facebook :)

Not a question but to the rude person asking about his insurance, I'm sure he probably has insurance for everything but insurance processes can take months to claim on which doesn't help someone who has just lost everything but the clothes on his back. Lovely thing your doing to help this poor gentlemen!!
