Scott, glad to hear you were saved. I should like to respond to Chris's statement that he apparently prefers you should have been left to die. If it takes a law to be broken in the name of common sense and humanity, then break the law I say. Well done to Dave, who I presume is perfectly well by the way.

Before I donate I would like to know what the medical condition was, how it was not relevant on that occasion and whether the search and rescue personnel knew that he had no valid licence.

I was not aware that it was appropriate for pages like this to be set up to financially assist law breakers? This person was rightfully convicted of a prolonged and premeditated deception to withhold significant medical information concerning the medical validity of his pilot's licence, from both the Civil Aviation Authority and the NZ Police.
