Life just flipped upside down. Recently, her grandchild fell ill when a tumour suddenly ruptured. Rushed to Whanganui Hospital, she was flown to Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, where her family received the devastating news that baby has Stage 3 cancer.

Moo, a devoted grandmother caring for her grandchildren is living every family’s nightmare. She is working hard to keep life stable while navigating an aggressive medical world.

They are in for weeks of intensive treatment at Starship, followed by months of constant travel between Whanganui and Auckland hospitals.

Because treatment severely weakens the immune system, a simple infection could be life-threatening. She must stay minutes from a hospital, meaning the family must temporarily relocate closer to Whanganui Hospital. Managing extra living setup costs, endless travel, and daily life is a heavy load for one grandmother, even with her incredible whānau and community behind her.
