Standing alongside Brendon and Andy as they face financial hardship and Brendon's cancer journey.
Christchurch, Canterbury
We're reaching out to support Brendon and Andy Aldridge through an incredibly difficult season.
A few years ago, the builder of their family home went into liquidation, leaving them with the loss of their savings and significant debt. Through no fault of their own, they have been carrying the financial and emotional weight of losses amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Recently, they relocated to Christchurch, leaving behind much of the close network of family and friends who would normally be nearby to help carry them through challenges like these.
Now they are facing another battle. Brendon has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and requires surgery. He will be unable to work for at least a month while he recovers, creating even more financial pressure at a time when they are already stretched.
Anyone who knows Brendon and Andy knows they are hardworking, generous people who would much rather be helping others than asking for help themselves. That's why we're asking on their behalf.
If you're able to give, whether it's a little or a lot, your support will help ease some of the immediate pressure and allow Brendon to focus on his recovery. Just as importantly, it will remind them that even after some very hard experiences, there is still kindness, generosity and community around them.
Most of us hope that if we ever found ourselves in a situation like this, others would rally around us. Today, we have the opportunity to do that for Brendon and Andy.
Thank you
