A Givealittle page to support my sister Esther through her cancer treatment and help her access an important unfunded medication
Auckland
In June 2026 Esther was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
Esther’s cancer is high-risk and has spread to her lymph nodes, making this a serious diagnosis and a long and tough road ahead for Esther and our family.
Esther is an amazing 41-year-old mum to Ariana, Covyn, Easton and Abel - and if you know her, you’ll know she has always been someone who shows up for others. She has spent years supporting her children, helping with sports teams and giving time to her community.
Esther has had to give up her job as a teacher while she focuses on treatment and getting well. She has now started a long treatment plan including 20 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by endocrine therapy and radiotherapy.
As part of her ongoing treatment, her oncology team has strongly recommended an unfunded medication called Verzenio. The cost is around $80,000, and accessing this treatment would give Esther the best possible chance of long-term survival.
This is the main reason we have set up this page - to help Esther access this medication. Donations will also help with the cost of travelling to hospital and the day to day expenses while she is unable to work.
We know Esther’s got the fight in her, and she has so much to fight for.
We love our sister, and we’ve got her, but we know many others do too. So we’ve set up this page as a way for people to contribute in any way, big or small.
If you’d like to help Esther in any other way, please reach out to me. Every bit of support, we know, will mean a lot.
Esther is my sister. And ive set this up for Esther on behalf of our brothers, parents, grandparents, nieces, nephews and of course Foni and the kids
Funds will primarily go towards helping Esther access the unfunded medication Verzenio, which costs around $80,000, as well as the cost of travelling to hospital, unfunded physio, and the day to day expenses while she is unable to work.

We thought we would put the number for the medication up there because it is a lot.
