Please support the talented young Joe Haddow who has touched so many hearts with his singing.
Wellington
Joe has always won people's hearts with his wonderful voice, characterful singing and quirky personality. He worked hard at his singing at the New Zealand School of Music at VUW and gives many people much pleasure from the communication he engages in with his audience. He won a place in the last prestigious Lexus Singing Competition, and he has been very generous in lending his singing talent back to the school to raise funds for following students.
While working hard on his music he was finishing his Bachelor of Science.
It was a shock to all of us to learn two weeks ago that he had been rushed to hospital where the doctors have found a tumour in his brain. He has already had brain surgery to relieve the pressure for his brain but is finding it hard to do any work as he is very tired physically and emotionally. He is going to try a few hours work later this week, but we want him to be careful.
Alex his wife needs to be with him to keep an eye on his health and his drugs, so she is unable to teach but can carry out her small admin job. They are awaiting another conference with the medical team to arrange the way forward with treatment.
Joe is a very talented singer and I was his singing teacher at the New Zealand School of Music when he did his Bachelor of Music Hons. He has been very generous in lending his singing talent back to the school to raise funds for following students
Living expenses at this difficult time when neither Joe nor his wife, Alex, are able to earn any money, and the future is uncertain for Joe's health.
