Supporting Lara and her whaanau

Lara, our beautiful friend, sister, daughter, cousin, māmā and wife, on Thursday 18 March, was given the most awful news that she has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It is stage 3 or 4, advanced and unfavourable. This is a huge shock to Lara and her whaanau as it was only weeks ago that she first found a lump in her neck.

As the cancer is large, and surrounding important blood vessels, chemotherapy has had to start immediately. This will be for at least 12 weeks, with the possibility of radiation also.

This is absolutely devastating news for Lara, Jordazhe, and their whaanau and friends. Lara is a energetic, strong and determined wāhine, a best friend, an inspiring nurse and a beautiful māmā to her boy Theo.

One way we can awhi and support Lara and her whaanau is to help contribute to the large and ongoing costs of living with cancer. Money can be a big stress and so if we can help with reducing this by giving finances in small or large amounts, this will make a difference for them.
