Helping support Mahi and his family through the challenging months of treatment ahead, much of it away from home in Christchurch.
Queenstown, Otago
As most of you know, Mahi has recently been diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer.
He is now facing up to nine months of chemotherapy and treatment, with much of that time needing to be spent in Christchurch.
For Rach, Ty, Mahi and Kayde, the months ahead are going to be incredibly tough. Along with the treatment itself comes a huge amount of travel, time away from home and work, accommodation, meals and all the extra costs that come with having to base so much of family life around treatment in Christchurch.
This page has been set up simply to take a bit of that pressure away and give Rach and Ty one less thing to worry about while they focus on Mahi and keeping things as normal as possible for Kayde too.
Any money raised will go towards travel, accommodation, living costs and the unexpected expenses that come with the months ahead.
Rach and Ty have also promised Mahi a well-earned family holiday once treatment is behind him, so if there is anything left over, it will go towards giving Mahi, Kayde, Rach and Ty something special to look forward to and a chance to spend some time together as a family after what will be an incredibly challenging year.
Anything you can contribute will be hugely appreciated, and most of all it’s just about showing Mahi and the family how many people are behind them.
Mahi’s wider family
Funds will help with travel, accommodation, living costs, hospital parking, keeping Mahi’s spirits up during treatment and other unexpected expenses. Any funds left over will go towards a family getaway once treatment is behind him.
