Volunteering in Central America

I am getting involved in Volunteering because I am following a dream of giving back. I have lived in New Zealand my whole life and despite not really having traveled I think we live in the most beautiful place in the world. I want to make some sort of mark on the world and I think it's the perfect place to start. I have always dreamed of making some sort of positive change or impact on the world but never really shared that or thought it would be so possible. I know that I won't necessarily make a big change or solve poverty in the area but I hope and think that I will be able to make some small change on at least one persons life and I think that could go along way. I also want to inspire people to help others in need or in general, whether it means being kinder to a sibling or stranger, or going out of your way to volunteer. I chose Costa Rica firstly because my Volunteer Consultant said it fitted with my plans and said it is a place in need but also because I see a lot of similarities in the way of the importance of conservation, to New Zealand. I have a passion for helping people and the environment and outdoors and I want to take words into action to make the world a tiny bit better.
