Where There's a Will, There's a Way...

William Bridge - a devoted husband and father of two young girls was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer.

Wellington

Anyone who knows William Bridge (Willy, Will or Billy to his English family) knows he is an awesome guy who loves his family, his friends and his football. In that order. His wife Nicky and their two young daughters (Nika and Layla) absolutely adore him, as do all of us who have been lucky enough to know him along the way.

It was a massive shock when, just before Christmas, Will was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. The most dreadful words that instantly changed his world and that of his family and friends.

For the two years prior to his diagnosis, Will and his family had already been through countless investigations, procedures and major stomach operations. He feels like he at least now knows who his enemy is, and is prepared for the battle of his life. Will has been extremely pragmatic, brave and positive in his approach to overcoming this and surviving. He is hugely determined and always stands up for what is right. This situation isn't.

He is currently in hospital building up strength for his second round of chemo. Chemotherapy alone won't be enough to get him back to health, but it is a very important step in the right direction. The plan is to couple this with complimentary natural therapies including oxygen, mistletoe and intravenous vitamin C. These treatments have had amazing results for others with diagnosis' as bad as Will's and we desperately hope that he can be another success story to add to the many. The money raised from this campaign will be used towards funding these treatments.

If the last few months have taught us anything, it is that there are no guarantees in life and that things certainly don't always go as planned. However, we are all trying to stay positive and support Will and his beautiful family in any way we can - to give him the best possible chance of getting back to being a fit, healthy dad playing football with his daughters in the garden.

Many thanks for your support

This family is particularly close to my heart. Nicky and I have been very dear friends since we were children and it has been such a joy to watch her beautiful life with Will and their girls unfold over the years.

I am setting up this page as I know there is a huge amount of support out there for them, and this is one way that people can help Will and Nicky to fight this battle.

Sad News  20 March 2015

Despite a fierce determination and courage in spades, sadly William passed away peacefully on the evening of 17th March 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family to the very end and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Nicky is extremely humbled and grateful for the generosity that has been shown to her family through givealittle to date. This page will remain active for some time to allow people to further support Nicky, Nika and Layla, if they wish to do so.
