  • Recovery and Payment

      22 April 2025

Once again thank you so much for your help with my give a little. I am on week 5 (I think) of recovery. I have been up and down and now trying to manage the new medications I am on, that don't feel like they are working. Payment wise, Southern Cross paid out the 80% and I paid all the shortfall to the three providers (Southern Cross Hospital, Shore women and Epsom Anesthesiology). We scraped in almost perfectly!

Now to focus on getting well, eating right and back to exercise hopefully in the next month but starting very slowly.

Once again thank you so much. I will be closing off the page now as everything is paid in full. We could not have gotten there without you.

  • Page Reopened due to complications

Thank you to Give a Little for re-opening my page. Due to complications (but we are so glad they found these) the cost of the surgery was much higher than planned. If you are squeamish don't look at the photo! Thats my appendix hanging out where it shouldn't be - it was moved back to where it belongs!

We so appreciate any amount given as I am not working at the moment and focusing on my recovery.

  • Surgery Done - With Extras

      18 March 2025

Last Friday I had the surgery for my Prolapse/Bowel. While there an investigation was done into the pain I have been having regularly. A few things appeared: a polyp was found and removed, adenosis (spelling?) was found where my bowel had all this scar tissue attaching itself to something else, it looked like I had appendicitis at some stage of my life and it had lots of scar tissue and was across my bowel. A few other minor things were found as well but so shocked about the adenosis and appendix! As such my surgery went for two hours longer than anticipated! I had no idea obviously, but it does mean the cost was higher than we have calculated. I'm hoping I can pay this off as I'm not working now for a while and that I can reopen this page. Unsure, but will update it soon.

  • Date confirmed!

      27 February 2025

Yesterday I was in hospital with a racing heart ❤️. I had to sleep in the waiting room on a row of chairs, character building or something! My consult with Dr Joy just happened to be that day and I was not missing it as we had experienced too many delays. So we had a good discussion and my date is March 14. Two weeks to sort out my business being handed over and one contract just finished this week. I’m working on reducing my commitments so I can focus on home life and healing. Not having to worry about the cost has made a massive impact so thank you so much again. Truly so grateful to not have this cost over my head.

Thank you so much give a little for the payout, next week I have another scan in warkworth which is quite invasive and then a zoom call with the gynaecologist. From there I should get my surgery date confirmed!

Thank you so much everyone for the amazing amazing generosity shown and in helping me achieve my fundraising goal! Really blown away and it is such a relief as I really didn't know how I would squeeze in anymore work! If you are looking for a wonderful supportive specialist, I highly recommend Dr Joy Marriott of Shore Women

Wow wow wow we are so humbled by the many donations received so far! I’m sorry I haven’t replied to everyone yet for their donations but I will! It’s a crazy busy time pre Christmas.

I still have some scans to do, a few zoom calls and I have started training with Louise at Mad Mel to ensure I’m fit and strong to help my recovery.

Thanks so much again and so amazed we are over half way with the funding amount!
