Help Jo get the surgery she needs.

In 1998, following a routine operation for removal of endometriosis, I was left with the most horrendous, chronic pelvic pain.

A pain so excruciating, sitting was not an option.

I can only describe my pain as a burning knife being poked up my genitalia, referring to my back,thighs and up to my breasts.

To this day, I cannot wear underpants or a bra.

To my disappointment,no doctor could tell me what was causing my terrible pain. This was to be the beginning of a very long and painful journey for answers to my problem.

I was seen by many gynaecologists but none of them knew what the cause was and put me in the too hard basket.

Pain teams left me feeling ashamed of my pain.

Destined to live a life of antidepressants and opiate medications, I set about researching my symptoms.

After reading an article in a magazine, I found a website called H.O.P.E.

I looked through the list of symptoms and could almost tick every one of them.

I have Pudendal neuropathy.

A condition most doctors know nothing about.

Unfortunately there are no gynaecologists in NZ, experienced in this type of surgery.

I have found Dr Hibner, who operates in Pheonix, America.

He has operated on hundreds of women with pudendal nerve entrapment.

I need this surgery more than anything.

My pain medications are not having the same effect as they did when I first started taking them.

My quality of life is poor as I live on a social welfare benefit.

I am asking you to help me raise the funds necessary to have this surgery and improve my life.

The surgery is expected to cost $40,000.

The consultation is $410 plus airfares and accommodation.

However all donations will go towards my operation. I've spent far too many years in my bed, depressed and fearful of what kind of future I might have. Suicide is thought about regularly.
