My amazing dog Molly needs surgery to remove 2 tumours before they get too big and her cancer spreads again. And maybe eye cancer.
Auckland
Last year, Molly had a tumour removed from her front leg. It turned out to be cancer, a rare soft tissue sarcoma and it was aggressive. She was a trooper and flew through surgery and recovery. Sadly, around Christmas last year, we found 2 new lumps on her body and they have been slowly growing like the last one. We fear her cancer has returned and these 2 new lumps need to be removed asap. The bigger they grow, the harder they will be to remove fully and they have more chance to spread in her body.
While we had the money last year for her surgery, it completely blew through our savings because it was so unexpected and we haven't been able to recover from that to save for another surgery now.
I'm going to run the Rotorua Full Marathon 6 May 2017 for Molly, and she is going to help me train by running as much as a dog can.
Molly has saved my life with her unconditional love and support, even though she may not know it. She is a big ball of love. She is always up for a run even when I'm not. Her enthusiasm and encouragement keep me going when I am struggling.
I will be running the Rotorua Full Marathon 6 May for Molly. She will be running with me as much as she is able, and she absolutely loves running!
The funds raised will be used to pay for Molly's vet bills incurred for her visit to assess her health and the tumours, and the surgery to remove them. She will also see a special eye-vet to assess potential cancer in her eye and if her eye needs to be removed.
There is no question that we will do whatever it takes to keep Molly healthy and free from suffering. We will pay for her vet bills no matter how it affects us because she is our family.
