Help is needed to pay for veterinary costs and the fight for justice for a killed dog.
Auckland
One of our amazing team members, Sara, was walking her two small dogs mid-January at a park across the street from her Auckland home when a large dog attacked them without warning. One of her dogs, Suzy, suffered serious injuries, and sadly, after several days of intensive care and a leg amputation, Suzy passed away due to complications from the attack.
This incident has been deeply traumatic for Sara and her other dog, Tansy, with Sara also sustaining several bites while trying to rescue Suzy. The owners of the dog that attacked them have not taken any responsibility, resulting in a significant financial burden for Sara. This includes veterinary bills of $15,000 and the prospect of legal action to try and ensure that the dog's owners are held responsible for the attack, including financially. Unfortunately, the court date is unlikely to happen for 2-3 years!
Setting up this page will hopefully help cover some of the veterinary expenses and impending legal fees. Only time will heal the physical and mental aspects of this vicious attack, but hopefully, we can help ease the financial impact on Sara and help her fight these all-too-common attacks by dogs. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would be greatly appreciated. We recognise these are financially difficult times, so if you are unable to donate, we would be grateful if you could share this request.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

From Sara and Lucy: Thank you so much for your generous donation during this tough time. The loss of Suzy has been incredibly tough, and your support means more than words can explain.
