Sofia has been an absolute star ⭐️ despite her awful injuries major surgery and many months of crate rest- she has handled it with the utmost humility and patience. She is such a beautiful kind natured girl that knew we were helping her and she tried soo hard to be the model patient despite desperately wanting to run and play with the other dogs

The time and love and wonderful support from you all has paid off and she is back living her best life . Playing with her friends going for walks cuddles on the couch and meeting all the farm animals

She’s a very happy girl and appreciates as do we - so much the love and support you have shown so we could save her life

She is now looking for a forever family that will adore her and treat her like the very special girl that she is

Thankyou all who have helped in this journey from the bottom of our hearts 💕

  • SOFIA 🌸 UPDATE

      7 September 2025

It’s been over 8 weeks now post surgery and this remarkable wee girl has made a fantastic recovery - despite a gruelling 8 weeks of mostly crate rest she handled it like the humble courageous gracious wee lady that she is 🌸 she is now well on her way to being fully active but we have to slowly build up her muscle tone and fitness as her zest for life and play far out weighs her need to pace herself so most of her exercise is on lead.

Just want to say a huge THANKYOU to everyone who got behind us and Sofia to give her a second chance at life - we still have about $7000 to raise before we are out of the woods and can return to saving dogs in desperate need around the country.

We can’t do this alone please can you help us cover Sofias operation so we can continue to help many many others that need help.

Many thanks and blessings to you all from the team at Animal Welfare Network Nz

Building kindness, communities and saving precious lives
