SOS - the Bay of Islands Swimming Club is desperately in need of some new equipment so we can run swim carnivals for our kids.

Welcome to the Bay of Islands Swimming Club “Give a Little” page. We are a small, volunteer-run swimming club based at Kawakawa in the Bay of Islands. It is the only indoor heated pool north of Whangarei, and attracts swimmers from the mid-North area. Most of our swimmers commute 65km return trips to training up to 8 times per week, which means early starts from leaving home around 5.15am and returning home around 8.15pm. Our swimming kids are really committed and we endeavour to give them all the support we can to help them achieve their goals, with many qualifying for national events. But as with all small clubs, it is always a challenge meeting costs.
I'm involved because I am a member of the club and have a teenager who is a swimmer. I am also a volunteer technical official.
We are a small volunteer-run swimming club based at Kawakawa in the Bay of Islands. We exist to help kids learn to swim in our entry level programme, and extend this to those who want to compete, by providing opportunities and support to help them achieve their goals. Many of our swimmers have qualified and competed in national events.
We are raising funds to replace some much needed equipment. Our competitive lane ropes are currently disintegrating, and our starting blocks are well over 20 years old. Both pieces of equipment are critical in enabling us to run swim carnivals, which in turn gives us much needed income to support our running costs, including our coach.
Your support of our fundraiser means you will be instrumental in assisting us to keep our club afloat!
