    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you all another update on how our beatiful Sylvia is doing!

She has now had four chemo sessions! She is so brave and doesn't even cry in the car when we take her for her sessions, even though it is a 45 minute trip when traffic is bad. She had to have a two week break between sessions as she sadly developed a pretty nasty cold as her immunities are not the best right now, so she needed time to recover before she could start the sessions again.

Unfortunately now she has developed a leaky butt! The vet says this is because the chemo has affected the bacteria in her belly so she is now on medication for that also. It makes me sad because I haven't been able to give her a cuddle for a few days for fear of getting poop on me. I hope she feels better soon!

Sylvia now gets a two week break until her next chemo session which is good because it gives her time to feel a bit normal again for a few days before being getting back to it.

One last thing as I know this is getting long: Karl and I are having a garage sale on Saturday May 8th to raise funds for Sylvias treatment. It will go from 8am to 12.30pm and we are located in Swanson, West Auckland. Please send me a message if you want the address!

    Thanks for caring everyone.

Love from Nikki, Karl, and cat family.

  • An update on Sylvie

    Hey,

Thank you to everyone who has donated or shared our page! Karl, Sylvia and I feel really really loved right now!

I thought I should post an update on how Sylvia is doing.

Sylvia has had two chemotherapy sessions now. She seems to be reacting really well to them and we aren't too worried about her at the moment. She's still eating however she is pretty sleepy afterwards. The worst part about it is that after we bring her home from her treatment she gets pretty grumpy and has a bad attitude for about 24 hours! It's actually really cute but I feel bad that she feels that way. I've asked the vet to keep an eye on her weight as I feel like she's pretty boney at the moment and they said they will keep us informed. We get to chat to the vet specialist again before the next chemo session so that will be good to catch up with him and find out how he thinks she is doing.

Here's a picture of her doing a major blep which she has been doing pretty often lately, probably from all the drugs she's on!

Love from Karl, Nikki, Sylvia and her siblings.
