Hi, This donation is to thank everyone in the marae for the great support we received after the Nov 14th earthquake. Unfortunate we were that night also staying with our tour group in Kaikoura... After all the stressful moments and slowly running out of food supplies for our group, it was nice to see the unbelievable buffet you managed to make to feed us all. Your chefs, helpers and volunteers were as 'angels' to us. We are so thankful for your support, smile and wonderful food! All of you had huge personal problems to deal with but the community feelings came first! Some of you probably felt it as 'Something you just have do'. Know that it is much more than that and a wonderful example for the Western world where everything is individually orientated with an often 'Me first' mentality. It surely opened the eyes of our Belgian tour members! We wish you all the best with the recovery and hope you all find a way to deal with the stress of the continuous after shocks. Kaikoura needs to be back on our tours asap and hopefully stronger and better than before. National support is great so we hope politicians will also do everything they can to get you all back to an enjoyable life! Our hearts and thoughts are with you all! Many thanks and a big hug from all of us! Sonja & Filip Rasquin Managers Golden Journeys Ltd

This donation comes via a cheque for US$1,000.00 from my colleague Prof Mark Turnbull in support of your efforts during the earthquakes. His address if you should wish to contact him 1089 New Braintree Rd Oakham MA 01068 USA. He wants me to get the receipt because then the tax rebate can be donated further to earthquake relief. He is coming to NZ next year and I hope to bring him to see the marae if that is possible. Mere Kirihimete, Nga mihi, Jan Wikaira
