Tamaira-Hineruku a 4 year olds' journey with type 1 diabetes.
Napier, Hawke's Bay
While the world was making their new years resolutions our 4 year old sassy, dance loving, super intelligent, kind little girl was beginning her journey with TYPE 1 DIABETES.
Early this year we noticed that our Happy little girl was not her normal self. Medical treatment was sought and that is where life changed. She was admitted to Wellington Hospital with severe diabetic ketoacidosis. Her body was slowly shutting down. She spent 3 days in ICU with a blood sugar level in the mid 20s. Being the brave little girl that she is she endured countless needles and treatments including having a hole drilled into her leg so they could give her the medicine she needed. Tamaira starts school in June and needs a Continuous Glucose Monitor (cgm). This machine monitors her glucose levels and alerts when necessary. With the CGM life will be a little easier for Tamaira and her Mum. Funds raised will be used to purchase a CGM and any other ongoing needs.
Tamaira-Hineruku is my grandbubby
Money will be used for a Continuance Glucose Monitor and any other ongoing medical needs.
