Tamaki Sports Academy operates a free metal collection service. This provides valuable work experience. Our truck needs to be replaced.

Tamaki Sports Academy provides sporting development, education and training mentoring, and life-skills development to at-risk youth in Auckland. We use our members' passion for sport as a hook to engage them in education/training. For 8 years or so we have operated a free metal collection service for Auckland homes and businesses. This provides valuable work experience for our members and has been an important source of funds.

Unfortunately our old truck has died and needs to be replaced. A replacement will cost $5,000 - $8,000 and we only have part of this amount.

About us

Avondale Educational Resources Trust (AERT) operates Tamaki Sports Academy. The academy's members are 14-21 year olds with a keen interest in sport. We use this interest as a 'hook' to educational achievement. We also provide sports development mentoring and offer a free metal collection service to provide work experience.

Use of funds

All money raised will go towards the purchase of a replacement truck for our free metal collection service.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform.
