    Namaste,

Rabin got to speak to his Dad Chatur Man last night.

Everyone is doing ok. They are trying to build a better shelter with bamboo and things they have salvaged from their home.

The hill directly behind their home has had major landslides and now has a large crack half way along it suggesting that it might all soon. With the monsoon rains there is a definite chance that half the hillside may collapse. This is obviously very concerning to us and our family.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, every penny helps. we have nearly reached the $7000 mark. it is wonderful to see all the messages also of support for the family. in a few days the shelter will arrive from Taupo Bungy and a solar phone charger so the family and friends can keep in contact with us here and other loved ones.

    thanks again. x

    Hey Everyone,

We spoke to our brother last night, He sent us through these photos he took of their house in Birta Deurali.

As you can see from the photos they have made a makeshift shelter.

It takes at the moment about 15hours to get to the village from Kathmandu normally 3 hrs. But Prabin was fantastic and walked long distances to see the family and update us on how everyone is back in the Village.

As everyone is scared and nervous all the time with the many aftershocks we little sleep is happening.

We are arranging to try get our family members from Kathmandu our to Birta Deurali. They would prefer to be all together in one place.

Gran Mum is needing her medicine desperately so we are working on getting her a new supply urgently before she requires to go on to Oxygen again.

There is little food, no electricity, and the rains have started for the Monsoon season. This is a difficult time for our family and many others.

We appreciate everyone support and donations.

    Namaste

    Gemma, Rabin and Chorten Tamang

  • walking into village

      29 April 2015

Our brother Prabin is making his way to our village.

He hoped to get bus to Banepa where many earthquakes have been centred then walking from there.

It normally takes 3hrs by bus to the Birta Deurali from Banepa.

We haven't been able to make any further contact with our family in the village. So we hope to hear fro them soon.

We are still raising funds to help rebuild.

thanks again everyone, we have cracked the $2000 and amazed at how much support and generosity there is. we have also learned that a number of phone service providers are supporting free calls to Nepal. we thank them too for making it easier to stay in touch with the familyin Nepal.
