Help Tania get through her second liver transplant

Southland

Tania Lineham is currently HOD Science at James Hargest College in Invercargill where she has taught thousands of students over the past 29 years. She was recognised for her achievements in 2015 with the Prime Minister’s Science Teacher Prize.

On Christmas Eve 1995 Tania received a lifesaving liver transplant in Brisbane. After the success of that operation she went on to help fundraise to get a Liver Transplant Unit at Auckland Hospital, as well as family accommodation for families.

In mid-October this year, Tania was placed on the liver transplant waiting list at Auckland Hospital to get a second transplant. After 22 years, the condition that caused her first liver to be transplanted has recurred.

David Hartley's involvement (page creator)

Tania and Craig have been colleagues and friends of mine ever since I moved to Invercargill in the early 1990s. Being able to help by creating this page is a simple but effective way of doing something practical in a situation where there is really nothing else I can do.

Use of funds

This appeal is to help raise money to make the move to Auckland, and having to stay post recovery, more manageable for her and her husband for the three months they will be away from Invercargill and off work.
