Taranaki Ice Swimmer Madeline Hobo to Attend World Champs. Chasing dreams can be easier with a little support
Raising funds to support Madeline in her dream of representing NZ. Lets get Madeline to the World Ice Swimming Champs to defend her U18 WR.
Taranaki, Stratford District
Madeline is a 16yr old Taranaki Swimmer hailing from Stratford. Madeline has qualified to attend the Ice Swimming World Champs, Molveno, Italy in January 2025.
Madeline is representing her Taranaki community and NZ on the world stage to defend her 500m Free, World U18 record. Madeline has also qualified for 4 other swimming events and also holds an Oceania/NZ U18 record in 100 breast.
So far in Madeline's swimming journey, training camps and qualifying comps have been self funded by family, but to achieve her dream of representing her country she needs the communities help!
In Madeline's words: "I'm super stoked that potentially the first time I get to travel internationally is for sport and with my team. It has always been a goal of mine to represent NZ. I didn't think I'd be able to do it at 16. My biggest concern is being able to raise enough funds to cover costs."

Use of funds
Money raised will be used towards the costs associated with attending the World Champs in Molveno Italy. Travel, Accom, Entry Fees, Acclimatisation Staging Camp.

Madeline is busy training in the pool and getting outdoors into cold water, she has also been busy promoting the sport and remains excited to be representing her community and country in the sport.
